“TAG Your History”: Young Peoples Project

Adults - - here’s your chance to get the younger generation involved in embracing are roots and remembering our loved one...

The “TAG Your History” Project is for anyone with a smartphone but we would especially like our younger family members with internet access to participate.  This is a great opportunity for to you to learn about those folks in those old photos hidden in bibles, sitting on frames and laying in old family
albums – then share with us!

Chances are you have a stack of photo albums collecting dust in a somewhere. We want these photos before they are lost or fade away. No need to remove them from the album/frame to scan. With a smartphone with a high-quality camera (like the iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, etc.), you can quickly capture these old photos and share your memories with the whole family online. 

These are quick ways to share photo and get  them add to the Washington family website, any will
do:
  • Add photos to the Southern Roots - The Washington Family page on Facebook
  • Shoebox turns your iPhone or Android into a high-quality photo scanner. With Shoebox, you can quickly scan paper photos, add important historical information like dates and places, and upload directly to your Ancestry.com family tree
  • Upload your photos to the family website: http://www.scrootsrundeep.com/family-photos.html
  • Use apps and share directly with me on Flickr (catrina703) or Instagram (catrina703) 
  • Or, email me directly at: genegirl703@gmail.com

We want the best photo possible, so before you start, here are some tips for prepping your assembly
line: 


  • Dust off your photos with a microfiber cloth
  • Find a well-lit area with lots of natural light and few shadows.
  • Set your phone to its highest picture quality and resolution.
  • Turn off picture frames and other effects


Finally, be sure to send any extra information, like who's in it (tags) and where/when the photo was taken (if
